During the summer months musical events and theatre performances take place at different venues. Most events are free of charge for the visitors and are sponsored by the individual groups for Bürgerpark. The musical programme varies from soloists to classical concerts and extends all the way to jazz performances. A fixed venue is Waldbühne, where events are held inside and outside throughout the year.
Last year the Bürgerpark's calendar included 26 different musical events. The Bürgerparkverein extends its thanks to the artists for their commitment and the visitors for their appreciation.

Shakespeare in the Park
An event that has already attained a certain degree of tradition involves theatrical performances of the Shakespeare Company that take place on an open-air stage at Melchersbrücke in August. With the silhouette of the park at dusk in the background it is an ideal time to present classical plays by Shakespeare to an illustrious audience and not only use the stage for this purpose. Waldbühne
Waldbühne, formerly Waldschlösschen, offers musical events with the focus on jazz the whole year round. The interior is decorated with nostalgic elements that fit in with the historical building and convey a cosy and local atmosphere. In the summer the popular and traditional Sunday jazz "Frühschoppen" takes place on the outside stage starting in the morning. During the winter months, but also in summer, concerts are held inside Waldbühne. You will find current dates directly at the Walbühne's website.

Music and Light
The biggest musical event in Bremen's Bürgerpark is the concert "Music and Light at Hollersee". The Bremen School of Music plays classical pieces and well-known modern works conducted by Heiner Buhlmann on the stage in front of Hollersee. On this occasion Hollersee (a pond) is illuminated while young and old listen to the music with torches in their hands and enjoy the mood and fireworks during the concert. This event is sponsored by all those involved and is additionally funded by renowned Bremen companies. The proceeds from the sale of torches also go as a donation directly to the Bürgerpark's coffers. Not to forget the Play Activity Programme, whose organizers and staff take part in selling torches at the event as volunteers.

November concert at Glocke
The November concert is the kickoff event for the New Year's donation. Traditionally the residents of Bremen are asked to make a donation to "their" Bürgerpark at the end of the year. At the November concert at the Glocke concert hall the guests not only enjoy the atmosphere and marvellous music, but at the same time support Bremen's Bürgerpark. Alternating every year, the Bremen Philharmonic and the German Army Orchestra play free of charge so that all revenues from ticket sales benefit Bürgerpark directly. All those involved place themselves at the service of the good cause.
